Oishii Sushi is a new sushi restaurant approved for Cherry Hill’s Route 70 near the Kings Highway, which will convert the former Georgia’s Fur and Leather retail store into a sit-down sushi restaurant.
The building for this planned sushi restaurant is across from the recently opened Raku Sushi restaurant (Famous Dave’s)… and just a couple buildings down from the Dunkin’ Donuts.

This section of Route 70 is made up of about half a dozen small roadside individual buildings, some of which have not been upgraded in several decades. Once the remodeling has been completed for this sushi restaurant, it will likely bring nice upgrade to that area.
The conversion into an Asian cuisine restaurant also includes a building expansion of nine feet by 40 feet, as well as a 10×18 feet cooler addition.

The restaurant will support 36 seats for customers as well as six employees. Fifteen parking spaces will also be provided meeting the requirements of the Township.
Some variances were requested (and approved) which were mostly based on approving pre-existing conditions from when the building was originally built.

Readers will note that there is already an Oishii Sushi (and Hibachi) on Greentree Road in Cherry Hill. I did reach out to the team there but could not get clarification if this new sushi place was from the same ownership.
While sushi typically does not require cooking, the approved plans include a fully-equipped kitchen featuring; deep fryer, griddle, gas range stove, wok stove and rice cooker… all in a compact yet effective “galley” style kitchen set-up.
The dining area shows nine tables (3 x 3) with four seats each… 36 seats. The rear of the building offers two restrooms.

I mentioned that Raku is across the street from this planned sushi restaurant. Cherry Hill as a whole is becoming a hotbed of International/Asian cuisine restaurants including Japanese, Chinese, Korean and more.
And it seems nothing is “hotter” than sushi in Cherry Hill, with three new sushi-centric restaurants recently opened; Kura Revolving Sushi bar at the Wegmans Center, Tommy’s Tavern + Tap at the Wegmans Center, and Kooma at the Cherry Hill Mall

Additionally in reviewing Google maps I see close by; Mr Sushi, Mikado, and Ten Asian Food Hall,
Popular “new thing” Facebook page A View From Evesham recently wrote that the Hobby Lobby shopping center on Route 38 will be getting a new Sushi Boss restaurant (Facebook), and the Ellisburg Shopping Center will soon open a Quick Way Japanese Hibachi (Facebook)
