Cinnaminson is the latest home for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, which is South Jersey’s second location.
Freddy’s Cinnaminson actually opened about a week ago on Rt 130, but I had a busy schedule and just found the time to stop over a few days ago.
Freddy’s is a cooked-to-order retro themed burger restaurant where the “Freddy’s Way” of preparing the burger is a thinly pressed patty, which gives it crispy edges, and is finished with their famous Steakburger and Fry Seasoning.
They also feature other delicious entrees such as hot dogs and chicken sandwiches.
And as the full name clearly indicates, Custard is a big part of the Freddy’s experience and the custard menu includes delicious shakes, ice cream cones, sundaes and concretes (ice cream mixes)
Approved in the Summer of 2023, the new Cinnaminson location at 1107 Route 130 sits in front of a large shopping center that is currently home to Extra Space Storage, K1 Cart Racing and more.
Many will remember the storage facility space as an Acme Supermarket which had closed at the location around 2011.
Within the center, Freddy’s has a very prominent location immediately to the right of the main entrance off of Rt 130. The new restaurant features a drive-thru (as you would expect), as well as indoor and outdoor seating.
The first Freddy’s location for South Jersey opened in March of this year in Burlington Township and I was there for that opening and got to try a wide variety of the menu!
If you’ve never dined at Freddy’s before… to get the classic experience I would recommend their Steakburger (consider a double as they are thinner smashed patties) and for dessert.. the Signature Turtle.
Freddy’s Turtle is fresh and creamy vanilla custard with hot fudge, hot caramel and toasted pecans. The frozen custard really is amazing, as the texture is sort of between soft serve and harder scooped ice cream… with an amazing fresh vanilla taste.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers was cofounded 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon, with their friend and business partner Scott Redler.
The restaurant was named after Bill and Randy’s father, who after serving in the Pacific Rim during World War II, return to Kansas and spent 56 years working in the hospitality industry.
In just a little over 20 years the brand has grown to over 450 locations in 35 states, with revenue totaling over $500 million as of 2019.
The new Freddy’s Cinnaminson features a similar elongated deep building style as Burlington, but inside the restaurants are configured differently.
Freddy’s Cinnaminson location has all of the seating positioned at the front of the store, where in Burlington the seating is split between the front, and then wraps down the right side.
The interior style of Freddy’s is reminiscent of a classic 1950 soda fountain, something that you may only see in a Hollywood Movie.
Seating is offered in tables and booths, with a deep red coloring, retro-styling and Chrome accents. Outside in the front of the restaurant is a covered patio area with table seating.
These two Burlington County Freddy’s restaurants are owned by franchise owner Brian Bowman, who with his family (Wife Janet and four children) are locals living in Burlington County themselves!
I’ve met Brian a few times… he really is an incredibly nice guy who was focused on the customer experience. When I was at the Burlington Grand Opening it was difficult to get Brian to rest for a minute as he was focused on every aspect of the restaurant!
Brian is interested in opening additional locations primarily in the Burlington County area but at this time he is not sharing details on other new locations.
