The Famous Dave’s restaurant and bar on Route 70 in Cherry Hill is slated to become the next Crab Du Jour location, with full bar!
To be clear, right now Famous Dave’s is still open for take-out orders. Famous Dave’s has not operated the inside restaurant or bar during Covid. There is probably a few months before things are changed over.
Back In February…
Marlton Pike noticed a new Cherry Hill location for Crab Du Jour listed on their site back in February! At the time it was simply “Route 70”, and Neil from MarltonPike.com reached out to Crab Du Jour to try and confirm the location and received no response.
This week we picked up on TWO items which lock this in to the Famous Dave’s Location. Well they make it very clear… our MarltonPike.com “value add” is knowing where to look for these things and share them with our readers!
Crab Du Jour
First let’s explain what Crab Du Jour is! From their site they are a southern Cajun style seafood restaurant.

Remember when the Asian Buffet locations swept through area? Well Cajun Crab boils seem to be the next wave. Our sister site 42Freeway has posted about Perfect Crab coming to Sicklerville, and Cherry Hill already has the Boiling House which is also expanding with their own version of express locations.
How We Know: Crab Du Jour Website
In keeping up with the story, we checked the Crab Du Jour website today for updates… and sure enough, they’ve updated the “Coming Soon” to Cherry Hill location to include an address.

And a simple “google” shows this is the location of the Famous Dave’s restaurant!
Liquor License Transfer
Crab Du Jour is expanding like crazy in our area, and they have two models of restaurants, full restaurants and Express.
Over in Turnersville New Jersey they recently opened an Express location in a converted Wendy’s restaurant. While it does offer seating, they do not have a bar liquor license.
In Delran they opened a location earlier this year in a former Chili’s, and they took over the liquor license there and offer a full bar. I believe because of the larger space they have an expanded menu.
Which brings us to the Cherry Hill Famous Dave’s location… and going through the local government process this month:
transfer to Crab Du Jour of Cherry Hill, Inc., for premises located at 104-106 RT. 70 East, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, the Plenary Retail Consumption License No. 0409-33-058-007, heretofore issued to Pitmaster’s Cherry Hill, LLC., t/a Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que
Seems to be some confusion on East/West in the writeup, but it’s clearly the Famous Dave’s location.
Confirmed
This week we spoke to an employee of the restaurant who was aware the restaurant was in the process of being sold and converted to a Crab Du Jour. They also were the ones who told us that Famous Dave’s Cherry Hill is still open for take-out, and they haven’t been told any plans of the final closing date.
