Dick’s Sporting Goods has opened a Warehouse Sale Store in Cherry Hill at the Plaza of Cherry Hill. The building is next to the mall and also houses eSporta, Chuck E Cheese and others.
Dick’s Warehouse Sale Store is directly next to Pure Hockey. Aldi is across the parking lot.
I visited the store on Friday.
While it very much feels like a temporary effort store (discount stores want low costs), the Cherry Hill location is a very large 32,000 sq ft space. It is filled with sports apparel and other merchandise.
To be clear this is primarily an apparel and sneaker store, and in my visit I saw very little fitness equipment available.
In fact at the website they present eight different product categories and all of them are “things you wear”. Apparel, footwear, and clothing accessories.
We’ve heard unofficially they have a 6 month initial plan for the space which will carry them through the Holiday shopping season (and time for returns). Based on sales success they’ll then decide any longer term plans for the Cherry Hill Warehouse store.
Dick’s does also still maintain on their website clearance and deal sections.
They have a coupon available online for $10 off your purchase of $50 or more. Valid through 9/22/2022/
The same Plaza shopping center will soon have a Spirit Halloween store open, and Total Wine is in the process of relocating within the Plaza to a larger unit which will double their size! (42Freeway)
Dick’s Warehouse Sale – Apparel Is The Deal
So if you are interested in sports apparel clothing and athletic footwear, there is a huge amount of product in the store… but it may take some work to find what you are looking for.
One of the drivers for this new brand of Dick’s stores is for them to be able to sell remaining styles/sizes from the traditional Dick’s Sporting Goods stores and website sales.
Consider a scenario where the traditional stores have featured a sneaker and initially had 100 pairs in stock in various sizes. Then at some point Dick’s chooses to bring a different style of shoe… so what do they do with the remaining 6 sneakers they have left from that initial 100? They send it to Warehouse Sale Store!
I would expect they are also filling out the stores with products purchased specifically for the Warehouse Store brand.
But expect everything to be discounted significantly.
The website says discounts are up to 70% and new items arriving weekly.
Dick’s Sporting Goods seems fully committed to this concept, as they are opening dozens of these stores around the country. The website lists over 50 locations.
In the immediate Philadelphia area they also list Warehouse stores also in Liberty Plaza (Franklin Mills) and King of Prussia.
New Jersey also has 2 other stores but they are in North Jersey; Rockaway and Watchung.
Dick’s Warehouse Sale Store Cherry Hill
In my visit last Friday the store was very well organized.
In keeping with the discounted warehouse theme it’s basically unfinished concrete floors and clothing racks.
They have separated products into sections with signage hanging fromt he ceiling marking the sections.. such as “Women’s”
The products on the racks were very well organized and kept together. I really didn’t spend much time diving into the products but it was very easy to notice multiples of items racked together.
Honestly it looked like a LOT more apparel options than what I’ve seen in the traditional store
