Today June 15th, non-essential stores with exterior entrances are allowed to open!   Core rules are they have to limit shoppers to 50% of the store’s capacity, and shoppers must wear masks.

Here’s a quick rundown of what we know about the two large shopping malls

Gloucester Premium Outlets

We spoke to Sean in the management team on Friday who confirmed that the Outlet stores will be opening today, but it was up to each individual store on when they would reopen.   Currently there is nothing on the Outlets Facebook page to indicate any stores are opening, but Sean said later today they will publish a list of exactly which stores are open.

Deptford Mall

Governor Murphy has only approved non-essential stores with their own outside entrance to be allowed to open today,  so the interior stores of the Deptford mall are not allowed to open.   The 3 larger anchor stores of the mall have the option of opening.

UPDATE:  We were pointed to a Deptford Mall event page which lists the stores that are opening (thanks Pete!)

In accordance with the government ordinance, non-essential retail only with exterior entrances are permitted to open on Monday, June 15, 2020.

  • Macy’s: Monday – Sunday 11AM – 7PM
  • Boscov’s: Monday – Saturday 11AM – 7PM; Sunday 11AM – 6PM
  • JCPenney: Opening June 17th, Hours TBD

On Sunday I put together a video on all of this… but 10 mins of me sitting in a chair talking just seems completely boring.  So I wrote this post instead. ha
