We don't have much on this one, but Char'd Music & Comedy Buffet appears set to take over the former East Garden Buffet location at the end of the line of stores in the Shoppes at Cross Keys, based on window signage.

A Chipotle boom is taking place in the 42Freeway area, with another one proposed for Blackwood-Clementon Road, at the site of the former Denny’s Restaurant.
The Denny’s building would be demolished to make way for a new building, which will have space for a future second retail client.
The application will be reviewed by the Gloucester Township Zoning Board on December 9, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gloucester Township Council Room, 1261 Chews Landing Road, Laurel Springs, New Jersey 08021, a
Chipotle
Chipotle is a well known “fast casual” Mexican restaurant, featuring a simple multi-step process of ordering… pick your style (Taco Shell, Burrito), Meat (Chicken, Steak, Veggie), Beans and other veggies, cheese.. etc.
There are locations in Deptford, Sicklerville, Voorhees, Cherry Hill… a new location just opened in Washington Township, and another is under construction in Glassboro!
As is the case with other recent Chipotle openings, the proposed Blackwood location will have a “Chipotlane” pick-up window. Orders places on the web or mobile, can be picked up via the drive-thru… but there is no speaker for placing orders!

Blackwood-Clementon Road Project Improvements
While the large K-mart building remains empty, there has been some progress on Blackwood-Clementon Road.
Directly across the street from the old Denny’s is a Royal Farms Convenience store.
One the same side of Blackwood-Clementon Rd (across Emerson Road) a Republic Bank opened in 2018.
A few buildings down in the empty lot which years ago was East Side Mario’s, a new Burger King is planned. (This would be a relocation of the one up the street)
A Dollar General store opened recently at the Commerce Plaza
Giant Fitness is planned for Commerce Plaza II
And we recently spoke to Benderson Development who own the K-Mart shopping center, and they are making a big push to get the K-Mart property leased, but noting is imminent. (I had emailed them a few months back when I realized at the time they didnt even have the property listed for sale/lease. It is now)

While I recognize that the empty building is an eye sore, what about all the other empty stores along BWCR? Why not occupy one of those?
