Construction crews are back at the Chick-fil-A site on the White Horse Pike in Barrington NJ, with lot curbing in place and driveway asphalt put down just a few days ago! Is this a sign that it’s finally “full steam ahead?”
Back in August of 2019 we were definitely premature in saying that construction had started… well it was more like “demolition” had started to demolish the former bank building and houses needed to clear the lot.
And then nothing. And then Covid slowed down the World.
Honestly that “start” was more about taking properties down, then building up.
So recently the “building up” has started as the site parking lot elements have started going in, with curbing in place and core asphalt being laid down just a few days ago.
We would expect this to be the start of solid development activity at the site.
But if anything, it puts the nay-sayers at bay in that, yes… they are still developing the Chick-fil-A.
Heck they even have a Facebook page for the store! Go “like” it to keep up with latest from them.
This new Chick-fil-A will be located in the area of the Lawnside Home Depot. Technically it is in Barrington, and more directly it is across the street from the newer Super Wawa and next to the Time Out Sports bar (with a side street separating them).
Chuck Lager’s Restaurant is also in the very immediate area, having taken over the Wild Wing Cafe building.
Our first post on this Chick-fil-A goes back to November 2017 when the developers were first expected to appear before the Barrington Planning Board.
The location puts them restaurant on the busy White Horse Pike, just a few blocks from Route 295, and in the area of densely packed communities of Barrington, Lawnside, Haddonfield, Oaklyn, Audubon, Somerdale and more in the immediate area.
42Freeway does not have a solid timeline on it’s completion, but based on experience with other development projects over the last 7 years, this should be an indication that soon we see foundation and walls starting to go up!
