A Chipotle boom is taking place in the 42Freeway area, with another one proposed for Blackwood-Clementon Road, at the site of the former Denny's Restaurant. The Denny's building would be demolished to make way for a new building, which will have space for a future second retail client.
One of my catch-up posts… Burger Barr opened in Washington Township back in August. It is an independent Philly area owned artisan burger shop located on Hurffville Cross-Keys Rd, directly across from the High School. I knew they were coming and even commented on their Grand Opening Post “42Freeway will be there”, but unfortunately I couldn’t make it then!
So on to the new eatery! The interior of the store is very inviting and attractive, matching the high quality food they are offering. They describe their offerings as:
Owner operated and certified foodies, we wanted to bring High Quality Products to the area that we would ourselves enjoy. We believe this Build-your-own-Burger style of menu reflects just that and we encourage you to get creative.
Burger varieties include a wide selection of buns; pretzel, wheat, even gluten free! NINE different cheeses to choose from! 5 different “Proteins” including high end Kobe Wagyu beef, chicken and veggie! Then top it all off with a choices of sauces and toppings.
But they are much, much more than burgers. Their french fries are hand cut. Cheese for the fries? They have 9 varieties to choose from. Truffle fries and pierogies are in the mix! Homemade Onion strings, Mac and Cheese Bites, Cheese curd… hmmm sounds like a cheese lovers paradise as much as they are a burger emporium!
And beyond that, looking at pics from their Social Media accounts they are frequently putting together new and interesting combinations!
And I know someone is going to ask… “Barr” does not mean alcohol.
