On August 3rd a new Autozone store was approved by the Township of Greenwich Planning/Zoning Board, at a location which most recently was known as Mr Bee’s Grill & Deli.
The property location is 295 Swedesboro Ave, but it sits at the corner with the much more traveled Harmony Road… and is directly at the Rt 295 exit. This should make easy access for many communities in the western part of the county. Next to this Autozone property on Swedesboro Ave is the Red Carpet Inn, which when I was a kid a long time ago was the Dutch Inn (with it’s landmark Windmill). That restaurant people people come from miles for dinner and events!
Considering the visitors to the supermarket shopping center and the proximity to 295, this seems a good fit for Autozone and I am surprised this wasn’t redeveloped sooner!
Autozone is a well know auto parts retailer who has been on an extended growth effort in South Jersey. In our area they currently are building a store in Mantua, and have applied for approvals in other towns such as Voorhees and Lindewold. Many other stores have opened in our area over the last few years.
